Circa 1970s Soviet era, this magnificent ring features a large synthetic ruby with vibrant pink colour, set in an intricately pierced shank in 14ct rose gold / pink gold, as the mix of alloys used in Russia. The colour of the pink gold is not like the modern rose gold but in a warmer tone, which suits the pink ruby beautifully.
This ring is in a great vintage condition with only slight wear to the gold and a couple of tiny nicks on the ruby, hard to be noticed when it is on the finger. The hallmarks are retained perfectly. It is very common to see the hallmarks of USSR jewellery stamped outside of the band.
