[SOLD] Antique Art Deco Australian Crystal Opal & Mother of Pearl Cufflinks with Enamel Borders, in 15ct Gold

A superb pair of antique cufflinks dating to the early 1900s, crafted in luxurious 15ct solid gold in the refined Art Deco style. Of elegant oval form, each cufflink is set with a vibrant Australian solid crystal opal, displaying vivid flashes of red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. The opals are surrounded by a gently convex mother-of-pearl panel, exhibiting a lustrous silky grey sheen. This is further framed by a fine white enamel border, adorned with intricate bead and rope twist detailing. The cuffs are joined by classic cable chain links.

William James Prouds opened his first store on Pitt Street, Sydney, in 1903. The cufflinks were handcrafted as an early masterpiece by Prouds. Complete with the original presentation box, these cufflinks are a rare and elegant example of early 20th-century Australian craftsmanship.
