An ingenious use of a white baroque pearl, this brooch uses the shape of the pearl to create the bulge of a spider’s abdomen. The pearl’s throw of colour upon its surface is complemented by the metal’s rosy tone. Each of the spider’s legs feature natural black tourmalines set into the surface, and the spider is completed by two yellow sapphires, cut into tapered baguettes, the shape of the spider’s fangs. Tender and delicate, this spider looks as if it could be alive.
